Seattle, Washington is another great city to check out for a weekend getaway. When most people think of Seattle, they think of rain and Pike’s Place Market.

However, there’s a lot more to Seattle than those two things. Seattle has some wonderful neighborhoods worth exploring outside of downtown, including Queen Anne, Ballard, Capitol Hill, and Fremont, where you can see the giant troll statue. There are many wonderful parks and recreation areas to visit within the city, with some of the best ones being Gas Works Park, Golden Gardens Park, Discovery Park, and Green Lakes Park.

And of course, if you’re going to visit Seattle, you have to spend some time on the water. We recommend heading to Lake Washington for some swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding. You can also explore the Pudget Sound by boat, or you can head down to Pike’s Place Market area to enjoy a fresh seafood meal and up-close views of the water.

Washington is also a great hiking destination, so we recommend driving outside of Seattle for part of your trip to enjoy some nature. Some of the best hikes that are still close to Seattle include Mount Si, Poo Poo Point, and Rattlesnake Ledge.
